No need to hunt for parking near Memorial Park!
We are grateful for the generous support of the South Orange Chamber of Commerce and the South Orange Lions Club, who are Co-Sponsors of our all-day Jitney Service, running from SOPAC to the Baker Street gate, from 10:30am to 10:30pm. The Jitney will drop off passengers every 15-20 minutes.
This 4th of July, please join the South Mountain YMCA Community Service Team in an effort to keep the Our Lady of Sorrows food pantry stocked. Donations will be collected at the YMCA table in the “Community Corridor” located on the south field.
If you are unfamiliar, the Our Lady of Sorrows food pantry is located in South Orange and serves approximately 100 to 150 patrons weekly. Many of the patrons live right here in our community. Summer months are a critical time for the food pantry as many of their donors are away for the summer. However, the need to serve does not go away.
We would like your help with collecting the following items:
Bagged or boxed rice
Shelf stable milk (canned, powdered or boxed)
Canned Veggies, fruit, etc.
Non perishable goods
To volunteer to help collect food on July 4th, please contact Jeff Goldsmith, Y Community Service Chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Congratulations and thank you to Boy Scout Troop 5, who have been a Maplewood 4th of July partner for 40 years!
The Scouts’ traditional hot dog/hamburger concession stand will be back on our South Field this 4th!
The Maplewood Civic Association invites local non-profit organizations, service clubs and neighborhood associations from the Maplewood and South Orange community to participate in this year’s Fourth of July celebration.
Interested groups can get involved in a number of ways, from event planning, to hosting an activity on the Memorial Park fairgrounds, to staffing a tent that showcases your organization’s projects. Join the many local organizations that make this event their annual tradition, including the Maplewood Rotary, South Mountain YMCA, Boy Scouts Troop 5, CHS Robotics Club, South Orange Rescue Squad, and CHS Cross Country & Track Teams.
Many activities already part of July 4th are available to host, such as games, contests, and exhibits.
Local groups are also welcome to create one of their own. Email email@example.com or call 862-205-3521.
